Allison grew up in the Midwest, where she got her undergraduate degrees in Environmental Sciences & Forestry at the University of Missouri in 2019. Back then the majority of her work experiences centered around planning and facilitating hands-on science and robotics activities for youth summer programs, as well as contributing to the development of a conservation program for Parks & Recreation as a City Planning Intern for the City of Columbia.

It was not until she worked at Wonderland Camp, a camp for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities, that she realized that her passion was not solely for nature or even the position of Nature Director there, but also teaching. Allison went on to acquire her Master's in Education with a endorsement in Elementary and Special Education from Antioch University of New England’s Integrated Learning Program. Since then, she has worked in schools as a Special Needs Educator.

Allison loves teaching, and specifically, creating curriculum that inspire students and create a positive relationship with school and education. She believes learning is always happening, whether we are in a classroom, at the summit of a mountain, or at the grocery store. Out here in New England, we are surrounded by nature, vast and immense opportunities to teach about the importance of fitness, conservation, wildlife, and botany--and incorporate it into our daily lives. Allison cannot imagine anything more exciting than combining nature and teaching into my career, as someone who loves both nature and teaching.
