Marisa Powers has been an integral part of the MSW community as a faculty member and a Parent. She is presently in her 11th year of teaching at The Mountain School at Winhall. MSW is very near and dear to her heart. Marisa is a licensed teacher in the State of Vermont. She has a Bachelor of Psychology Degree with a minor in Sociology from the University of Vermont and a Master’s Degree in Montessori studies from NAMC. She is also continuing postgraduate studies pursuing her Master’s in School Psychology. In her personal time Marisa enjoys snowboarding, surfing, running, yoga, travel, and cherishes all the beautiful seasons Vermont offers, along with her husband, their two daughters, and their dog, Olive.

Marisa is dedicated to creating a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment for her students and inspiring a love for learning in them. She has been a champion for expanding our outdoor education program and integrates these experiences in thoughtful and meaningful ways as an experienced educator in this area.
